DOES YOUR WATER LINE FREEZE DURING THE WINTER MONTHS?
Cold weather creates problems with freezing when water pipes are not buried deep enough to keep them protected. Our heat tape installs inside the water pipe to keep the inside warmer than freezing. These heat tape units are ideal for long lines going from a well to a house where the cold causes problems.
Thermostatically controlled, these heat tape units only heat when temperatures approach freezing. Because they turn off when not needed, they consume less energy than units that are on all the time.
WinterGard inside the pipe heat tapes can be installed in PVC or poly water lines without a problem.
NEED TO PROTECT A LINE THAT IS ALREADY INSTALLED?
The Retro-fit Inside the Pipe Heat Tape system allows you to install a heat tape inside the existing water line where the ability to insulate the outside of the pipe is not possible. The Retro-fit units provide higher heat to compensate for the lack of insulation. The Retro-fit heat tapes are available in 120V power for up to 70' lengths, and in 240V power for units over 70' long, up to 250'.
RETRO40 through RETRO250 models should be bought up to 1 foot shorter than the line they will protect. Retro-fit heat tapes are designed for 1" and 1 1/4" Polyethylene pipe. 240V units come with a thermostat and must be connected to a GFI breaker.

NEW WATER LINE INSTALLATION WHERE INSULATING IS POSSIBLE
Installed inside the water line, the unit is protected against damage from outside sources. This makes the unit last longer than heat tapes that wrap around the pipe and are exposed to abuse. The temperature sensor is attached to the outside of the pipe to thermostatically control when to turn on the heat tape.

The pipe should be protected with closed cell insulation to insure proper temperature sensing operation. Available in lengths from 18' up through 240', there is a in-pipe heat tape for every application, and they run on standard 120V power.
MINI18 through MINI34 models are selected to be up to 6 inches shorter than the pipe line they will protect. If your heat cable is longer than the pipe, you can add additional pipe length to accommodate the extra length of the cable. These MINI models have a fitting with a 1/2" male pipe thread on the end that will connect to your threaded tee. Use a tee that matches your pipe size, and then use a reducing bushing in it to have a female 1/2" pipe thread to screw the heat tape fitting into. Also be aware that the MINI does not come with a GFI circuit. You will need to install a 5 mA ground-fault circuit interrupter for the plug receptacle.

MISER40 through MISER250 models should be ordered up to 1 foot shorter than the water line they protect, since they are more rigid, and unable to flex inside the pipe to take up length.
These heat tapes for inside your water pipe are a special order item. Be sure to pick the size that is closest to the length of your water line.
